Der Riss

Helene Regniers Ehemann Charles, der geisteskrank ist, verletzt ihren Sohn Michel in einem Wutanfall. Charles zieht zurück zu seinen wohlhabenden und manipulativen Eltern, die Helene für den Zustand ihres Sohnes verantwortlich machen und schwören, das Sorgerecht für Michel zu gewinnen. Während der Junge im Krankenhaus ist, mietet Helene ein Zimmer in einem nahegelegenen Gästehaus. Die Regniers engagieren Paul Thomas, einen Familienbekannten, der Geld benötigt, um belastendes Material gegen Helene vor der gerichtlichen Anhörung zum Sorgerecht zu finden. Paul zieht in das Gästehaus und plant mit Hilfe seiner Freundin Sonia, die selten Kleidung trägt, Helene’s Ruf und schließlich ihr Leben zu zerstören.
