Film

Kirot (auch bekannt als The Assassin Next Door) ist ein düsterer, actiongeladener Thriller aus dem Jahr 2009, der die ukrainisch-französische Schauspielerin Olga Kurylenko in der Hauptrolle zeigt. Der Film, der von Danny Lerner inszeniert wurde, erzählt die Geschichte einer Frau, die gezwungen wird, für die russische Mafia als Auftragskillerin zu arbeiten, und sich schließlich mit ihrer Nachbarin verbündet, um deren misshandelnden Ehemann zu töten.

Handlung und Themen:
Die Handlung von Kirot dreht sich um Galia (Olga Kurylenko), eine junge Frau, die von der russischen Mafia rekrutiert wird, um als Auftragskillerin zu arbeiten. Als sie in Tel Aviv stationiert ist, lernt sie ihre Nachbarin, die misshandelte Hausfrau Elen (Ninet Tayeb), kennen. Die beiden Frauen entwickeln eine ungewöhnliche Freundschaft, die schließlich in einem gemeinsamen Racheakt gegen Elens gewalttätigen Ehemann gipfelt. Der Film behandelt Themen wie Unterdrückung, weibliche Solidarität und die Suche nach Freiheit in einer von Gewalt und Korruption geprägten Welt.

Darstellung und Charaktere:
Olga Kurylenko überzeugt in der Rolle der Galia mit einer kraftvollen und emotionalen Performance. Sie verkörpert die Zerrissenheit ihrer Figur zwischen Kaltblütigkeit und Mitgefühl überzeugend und zeigt sowohl ihre physische als auch emotionale Stärke. Ninet Tayeb als Elen liefert ebenfalls eine beeindruckende Leistung und schafft es, die Verzweiflung und den Mut ihrer Figur glaubwürdig darzustellen. Die Chemie zwischen den beiden Schauspielerinnen trägt maßgeblich zur emotionalen Tiefe des Films bei.

Inszenierung und Stil:
Danny Lerner inszeniert den Film mit einem klaren Fokus auf Spannung und Atmosphäre. Die düstere, fast schon klaustrophobische Stimmung wird durch die dreckigen, heruntergekommenen Schauplätze und die kühle Farbpalette unterstrichen. Die Action-Szenen sind hart und realistisch inszeniert, ohne unnötige Übertreibungen. Allerdings leidet der Film stellenweise unter einem etwas vorhersehbaren Drehbuch und gelegentlichen Klischees, die die Handlung vorantreiben.

Fazit:
Kirot ist ein packender Thriller, der durch die starken Leistungen seiner Hauptdarstellerinnen und die düstere Atmosphäre überzeugt. Obwohl der Film nicht ganz frei von Klischees ist, bietet er eine spannende Geschichte über weibliche Solidarität und den Kampf gegen Unterdrückung. Fans von Olga Kurylenko und düsteren Action-Thrillern werden hier sicherlich auf ihre Kosten kommen.
