Die Handlung des Films ist fesselnd und anspruchsvoll. Während die Adelsfamilie Atreides in einen interstellaren Krieg um die Kontrolle über den begehrten Würzstoff “Spice” verwickelt wird, entfaltet sich ein Netz aus Intrigen und Machtspielen. Die tiefgehende politische Komplexität der Geschichte wird geschickt präsentiert, ohne den Zuschauer zu überfordern.
